DUer's seven year old daughter is in St. Tammany/Washington parish. Help?
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 11:37 PM by tjdee
Does anyone have any information on what is happening in Thomas, near Stateline, about 10 miles north of Pine?

Dylan Garcia posted this in GD:

Apparently he and his wife were/are in Crawford and couldn't get back for their daughter. She's with a friend in the above area, but he's understandably worried. Anyone with any info or ideas to try?

on edit:
Seems they were in Crawford but are now in Waco.

1. Ok cell phone
that may be down,

American Red Cross (maybe.. not likely)

If the kid is fine EMS and Police have beter things to do, but if they go to any shelter manned by the Red Cross they SHOLD be taking lists.

4. I would be FREAKING OUT... but then, that's just me.
Recommend that Camp Casey ppl w/ connections use them... and that others here do the same.

PS - why was daughter at home (school....)? She would be well educated at Camp Casey as well.

7. For what it's worth, she spent a week at Camp Casey before school started
We were in Camp Casey because we are Sheehan's lawyers...not that any of this should require any justification whatsoever.

10. I pray you hear from her soon.
I know communications are blown out, but hopefully they'll patch something up by morning. Do you know any ham radio operators? I'm so sorry you are going through this tonight.

14. It doesn't.
Contact Red Cross and the pd for a list of the local shelters. Then contact the shelters one by one and leave a name and description of your daughter. Police have alot on their plates but file a missing person report anyway. Try to fax them a recent pic of your daughter and have all information about her ready for the report.
We were told that nationwide they cannot make you wait for file a missing persons report on a child (applies mostly to kidnapping but the laws are vague-at least that's what they told us when I used to work for a police department). Tell them you can fax or email all the info to make it as easy as possible for them (w/o flooding their phone lines).

13. They've all been on my mind all day too.
I especially want to know his little girl is safe and sound. Was hoping to see a post saying as much when I got in from work.

I hope all our DUers are able to let us know how they're doing and what we can do for them asap.
