Sad and gruesome story I heard on the radio (warning: graphic) |
|
A local talk show host told a story about the last hurricane to hit Louisiana (I think it was Louisiana). A friend of his covered the story and commented that he couldn't forget the bodies floating in the flood water.
The kicker was that the people didn't die from drowning, getting hit by debris, their houses falling on them, or anything like that. No.
But they ended up in the water, trying to float to safety. The same water that flooded the marshes, or swamps. The snakes in the marshes live in fresh water. When the salt water floods in and rousts them, they get very irritated. And they start moving with the flow seeking fresh water. And the humans in the water suffer the wrath of the snakes.
The dead people the guy saw floating in the flood waters died from snake bites.
Sorry if this upsets you but it upset me, too. That is why I needed to share.

I'm not saying this happened with Katrina, but it apparently did back in the sixties or seventies, or whenever.

I think I would want to share such a story as well....
If you keep it to yourself, then it has much more impact on you...
How does the saying go? Share your joys, and multiply them...Share your sorrows, and divide them...or something like that...
What a horrible way to die...I can hardly imagine it...
:scared:  :grouphug:

:scared: I'm not afraid of dying, but I grew up on a bayou just off of the Arkansas River, and the thought of death-by-snakebite makes me sick at my stomach.

I'm not afraid of dying, either. But I do fear pain.
