This morning I slept through my alarm
I have an radio alarm and the radio runs for an hour before it cuts off itself. I woke up exactly the minute the radio shut up. Wow. I had strange dreams and I can't really say I am 100% myself. Let's see what the day brings.

3. horrible
normally I wake up to the radio, just not today. I rather wake up to music than to VERY strange sounds that make you stand in bed. :)

5. After an episode of that sort of inhumane clanging, I'd probably
be extremely tempted to chuck the little monster right through the nearest window!

You are a brave soul for putting up with that! Whatever it takes, huh?

 :pals:

2. Sounds to me as though your body still feels as though it's still
on vacation! And your brain probably feels the same way...

It takes some time to readjust to the "normal" way of life!

:loveya:

4. believe me
with that weather we have right now, I wish I would still have vacation. Temps higher 80s (which is hot for Germany) and beside, the summer was mostly cool and rainy.

6. I follow the radio with the alarm on my mobile 'phone
Quarter of an hour later - also the radio is turned up VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY loud to start with. I still went back to bed and dozed for another 45 minutes though.

I'm very difficult to rouse first thing.

I hope that your day goes splendidly nonetheless. :hi:

Any thoughts on the forthcoming election?

8. normally I wake up when the radio goes on
hit the snooze button more than once before finally draggin myself out of bed. But that I wake up when the radio goes OFF again ...

The elections. :eyes: I am sure the CDU and Merkel will win but I am not happy about it. But if the SPD and Schröder win again, nothing will change. The left and the right are not votable. Neither is the FDP. Leaves the Greens.

10. British media also seem to be pretty certain that the C.D.U. will win
There was an interesting report on Merkel on Newsnight towards the end of last week - the main angle was the question of her as the "German Margaret Thatcher" (understandably). The general consensus was that the link was overblown, but that was looking at Thatcher in her later years - folk forget how apparently timid she was back in 1979.

12. I don't think Merkel is as tough as Thatcher
I am just scared that with her and the CDU in power a lot of the social stuff will go down the river. And that whoever GW decides to invade next, Germany will be part of it :scared:

the leaves are starting to turn colors ...

the hummingbirds are goin' into their pre-migration feeding frenzy

they are starting to stare at me as if to say 'goodbye'

18. I can't believe it!
I tried to ignore the first lil' bit of red on the Maples.

But ... when my hummingbirds start to imprint before they go ...

it breaks my heart it's a behavior that only someone really connected would notice ...

I spend hours watching them, they do 'know' me.

20. not soon enough
It's lonely here in the winter without my wildlife friends. I have a heated birdbath for the winter birds and they love having fresh water that isn't frozen.

Do you feel better?

I had that happen yesterday with my alarm, then I remembered that I took the day off.

28. but that is a great feeling isn't it?
to be scared for a second to have overslept to then remember to be able to sleep in and turn around and go back to sleeping. That second when you KNOW you can sleep ín :)

I am feeling better by now. Only one more hour and I am off. Should have my pictures Thursday.

my co-worker did most of the stuff. I "just" need to play in a new update in the next days. It was cool. I was scared that the books would be piling up on my desk.

27. I had to switch back to the actual alarm.
My favorite radio station has a bad habit of going off the air and allowing me to sleep through it.

No way I can miss that loud beeping on the alarm.
