With The Levee in NOLA breaking.. |
|
and the worst--case scenario coming close to being true, I have to think that W's little trip to the beach in San Diego while this disaster is happening is going to probably drop his ratings into the 20's before the next couple of weeks is out.
How is he or his toadies on the Radio going to explain his nonchalance about this? You can't. And we all know he hasn't been in the most coherent shape in the past year, so I cringe at what he's going to say in the coming days about this.
It's going to be crazy.

1. It all depends on whether or not the Dems have the balls to call him on it |
|
I hope they do; this is a legitimate leadership issue. Not once, but twice we have seen him fiddling while a city is under attack, be it from terrorists or Mother Nature.

no question; there's no way around that. If he's still on his little vacation today, there's going to be a backlash, whether the Democrats call him on it or not, I think. You just can't give any rational explanation about him not being at least apprearing to be on top of this.

2. He will claim his "Delegator-in-Chief" title again |

"His people were on top of things" will be the mantra, along with platitudes about letting the FEMA and local folks do their jobs, blah blah blah.

if he were bunkered down some where in the WH "working", but attending a fund-raiser in San Diego? No way; even he can't get away with that. But I guess we'll see.

Because I wouldn't put it past him. But my gut says it not only doesn't work this time, but that it's a PR disaster for him.

7. I would say you are severely underestimating... |

the gullibility of the American people. I see him, bullhorn and all, getting a significant bounce in the polls.
