So how are the gas prices affected your Labor Day weekend
I'm at the point where I'm limiting my travels anymore which means I'm staying in this weekend for Labor Day except maybe a visit here or there.

I'm so pathetic anymore - I was the girl who would jump in the car and drive 3 hours to go hiking in a park or check out a big flea market. Now this weekend I don't feel like visiting my family in Harrisburg because that'll mean an extra $30 in gas this month.

And as for going out shopping and what not - my mentality is if it's not a place enroute between where I work and where I live then I probably don't need it.

This gas crunch is going to kill our economy - people will travel less and they won't shop as much. Thanks George for fucking us over again!

2. Well, I have a trip planned, traveling by air.
If that wasn't the case, I'd stay home for the most part, too.

:(

10. Same here
Going to be more expensive to get to the airport, other than that, not bad until we get back. After that, I'm going to start looking at fuel-efficient station wagons...

3. Considering my weekend plan consists mainly of unpacking boxes
and sitting on my ass doing nothing, it doesn't effect me much at all this weekend. :)

4. we're going to the first K state game

but other than that, we shouldn't be driving anywhere. Unless it's up the street to grab some Mr Goodcents to cure our hangover on Sunday (assuming we have enough vodka in the fridge to even get us tipsy cuz we sure as heck can't afford to buy more when there are people on the coast waiting on my donation that will go out next payday). We did invite the inlaws down but if they come they'll ride their harley which is TONS cheaper than bringing the truck. I'm almost hoping they don't come because I hate the thought of anyone using gas needlessly. Heck, we live in a town that takes 10 minutes to get from one side to the other and I'm depressed that we live too far from the football stadium to walk to the game.

6. Not good!
I'm leaving tonight to Atlanta from here in Columbus which is a 9 hour drive. We initially had a van for 4 people which we now don't have available so we have to split up into two pickups which means twice the gas as expected and twice the hotel parking fees for 4 days at Dragon Con. Just our luck gas is at an all time high for this trip.

12. we looked into that
same price and we are hauling a lot of gear so we need the tucks.

I also received confirmation in a panic Atlanta's gas went to $5.00 that FIVE DOLLARS A GALLON!!!

We'll be filling up before we cross the Georgia border. Lucky for me my company had an overtime incentive this month and I got $60.00 in gas cards to take with me. They're like gold now!

11. Still driving 3 hours to one of the coolest events ever held
The annunal "Neighborhood picnic". My wife's old neighborhood in Lynchburg still gets together every year. All the parents and some of the kids (that she played with as a kid). Her family moved out when she was about 12 but they still all stay in touch. The even have a budget meeting for the next year at the end of each year's picnic-they keep the ledger in an OLD greenstamps notebook.

13. I was going to spend the weekend at my family's beach house
which is a 200 mile trip one-way. I'm going to stay at home to do my part to relieve the demand on gas. Besides the price for regular in my area crossed the $3.00 mark today.

14. My sister is driving three hours to visit us.
And she hasn't been out of her house today, doesn't know how much gas is...well, she does now, because I told her.

I need her to come because my kid's day camp ends a few days early and I can't take off work or pay someone to watch her.

It'll be fun though hopefully...

it will make my move Saturday about $30 more expensive than it would if I had moved last Saturday.
