Poll question: Would you rather be a liberal in a Red City or Red State? |
|
I'll take the red state ANY day...
Red states have refuge: Texas has Austin, Idaho has Cour d'Laine, Florida has Miami and North Carolina has Chapel Hill.
However, if youre stuck in say...Fresno...sure you're in California, but you have sleep among all the shit that surrounds you.

3. Red city, even though I live in the bluest of the blue. |
|
At least if the state's blue, the city doesn't matter. Not to me, anyway.

in a red city that's smack in the middle of an even redder state, I'd much prefer being in a red city surrounded by blue. At least then there's only a short distance between me and fellow sane people. And it's so emabarrassing to tell people I'm from Kansas because even though I know better, it's like being from Kansas automatically makes you red. Embarrassing and Frustrating!!

5. The problem with living in a blue city and a red state is: |
|
state law affects everyone, regardless of the city. So, all that right-wing crap that gets passed by our legislature affects us too. If I was stuck in Fresno, at least state law is on my side for the most part.
