Mark Buerle is a goon.
Yeah, simply because you sucked that night, they're illegally stealing your pitches?

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLSHHHHHHHHHIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

I hate when pitchers say this. I was pissed last year when Johan said the same thing. It's ridiculous.

Stealing signs is as old as baseball...

2. The Vi-queens SUCK!
How's the Vikes gonna do this year? They look to be the pick of the litter in the North. Buehrle needs to shut up and pitch.

3. Better than the Bears
;-)

Seriously, the Vikes are an easy pick this year. I think as long as they go 8-8 (and they will) they'll win the division. The rest of the teams have absolutely no hope.

8. It will not be fun season for the Bears
My only hope is that they beat the Packers twice. After that it's gravy. Going to war with a rookie QB will be interesting. Bears have absolutely no offense to speak of, but their defense will keep them in some games. If they stay healthy. BTW, the Vikes will do much better than 8-8.

12. I'll be upset if they don't go 10-6 or better
Personally, I'm thinking 11-5.

14. 11-5 seems do-able.
So long as two of those wins are against the Packers. I cannot even estimate what the Bears will do. If they don't beat 5-11 then Angelo is gone. I really like Lovie Smith. He's being dealt a bad hand.

4. Da Bears .... well I can't even bring myself to say stuff that bad!

The good news is that da Bears will likely be ahead of Green Bay!

5. They might as well house the evacuees at Lambeau
They won't be needing it.

9. That would make my year.
I cannot bring myself to hate the Vikes as much as I do the dreaded Packers.

6. He could just be tipping them off himself
Pitchers have been know to do that too.

7. Like KitchenWitch said, stealing signs is OLD and LEGAL.
What made the statement by Buerle so odd, is that he accused them of an elaborate system of center field sign stealing onlookers who relay signals, via intricate lighting system, to the batters. That's just dumb.

He just can't accept the fact that his team is now showing it's true pitching colors. Baseball is a game of averages. They're coming back to the middle. That's all.

10. I don't know about their true pitching colors
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 03:26 PM by kanrok
Until the Texas series, they were on a run of quality starts. Their hitting is what's bringing them down. They are not scoring runs when they need them. If the law of averages is catching up, it's their offense that is suffering.

11. It is a lot like that bullshit that Buck Showalter was spewing
years ago (not sure if it was 1987 or 1991) about how when the Twins were up to bat at the Metrodome, the fans would blow "out" and when the opposing team would be up, the fans would either be off, or be "sucking in".

Meh!

13. Like playing in the Dome is an advantage or something?
That place is a rusted out shitbox. The only thing that is nice is that it's absolutely deafening.
