If you use gas, here is how to save some: |
|
Put your car in neutral at stop lights & "rush" hour.
Better than leaving it in gear and using more, I suppose.

My RPMs are always a little higher when the car is in neutral than when it's in gear.

1. Check tire inflation pressures. Running underinflated (as most people do) really does burn a lot of extra gas, plus it's hard on your tires. This is the most important thing you can do to save gas besides limiting trips, and it goes for two wheelers also.
2. Lighten up. If your vehicle is a rolling dumpster, clean it out. Check your trunk. Do you have bags of salt in there from last winter? Soda bottles with god-knows-what in them? etc.
3. Check oil and coolant and adjust. Too much motor oil is as bad as too little (damages seals). Change your air filter so your car can breathe better.
4. Hope this helps.

8. how about "accelerate slower" |
|
and coast to a stop? Fast accelerations burn more gas, and people seem to race right up to stop signs and red lights and take their exits too fast.
