I saw an old black lady in a wheelchair on Larry King
In one of the places refugees had gathered, I think the Convention Center, there was a frail old black lady in a wheelchair, and you could see the hurt all over her face.

She looked just like my late grandma. I'm looking at these folks, and I have family in a poor county in South Carolina...they are people just like my family. And no one gives a damn about them.

2. I know
I mean "no one" as in gov't...these people have been there for days.

Oh, god. There's a woman on there now holding up pictures of her family members asking if someone has seen them. This is just like 9/11.

5. Yeah, but why didn't she evacuate?
That's what Larry King asked. "Why didn't they evacuate?"

Larry King is an asshole. You may quote me.

6. The head of FEMA said the same thing -
"They were told to evacuate. They had their reasons for not leaving, I'm not going to judge them. But they were told to leave".

I wanted to reach through the TV and knock his teeth out.

16. "Larry King is an asshole."
Yep. He sure is. They didn't evacuate because they were probably told it was back out at sea and not a threat to them. And let's not forget that those people at the SuperDome probably didn't just pull the idea to go there out of their asses all at the same time and just go there to ride out the storm. They did what they were told to do and look what it got them; rape, starvation, no medical attention, living with dead bodies all over the place on a concrete island with sewage and more bodies floating around it. Come on.

9. I think it is unfair for you to say that no one gives a damn about them.
What's up with that?

11. I feel your same exact pain. I'm in NC in the poorest county
in the state. I know that if the next hurricane hits us, we'll be in the same predicament. It's beyond reprehensible that the so-called leadership in this country are dragging their feet. I'm beginning to actually believe that they are hoping those people will die so they won't have to deal with them any more. I really am beginning to believe that they are that heartless. And the news media is no help either. Other than one rescue by A Current Affair, no other news media has bothered to rescue a single soul they are interviewing and videotaping. If they can get there to interview the poor stranded starving people, then why can't they take a few each time they leave? At least it would make a decent dent in the number of lives completely destroyed by this neglect from our hideous cold hearted dictator led government.

scared of all the crazy black people running out of control looting everything.
