Off the road
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 07:18 PM by HEyHEY
Woke up Thursday morning, bright and early. Hopped into the car and headed to the store, bought, a crappy muffin, a pack of smokes, and a cup of tea. Jumped in the car.

Cranked up "little bit of soul" lit a smoke as I hit the highway, and it was pretty much like that for a couple hours. Then I got to Cache Creek, and if you've ever seen Hardcore logo....Herbie's does exsist. Had Dairy Queen for lunch and hit the road again. When I finally got to the Cariboo region I was dissapointed. It was much more unattractive than I imagine. I haven't been there in a long time. Flat tiny, hills, lakes, not nearly as nice as the desert I was in earlier.

Got to Quensel and checked in to my room headed over for my interview. It turned out to be a waste of time. I had one look at the editor and could tell he was some 40 something burnout pothead. He seemed to barley remember I was coming. He hardly asked me any questions and didn't ask for more samples....I felt duped. SO I went back to my hotel room after eating fast food for dinner. Then I started in on a mickey of royal reserve and coke while watching the Vancouver/St Luois game. I Suddenly became very worried about my situation and couldn't stop thinking about it all night. Wreck my evening. So I called a couple friends and yakked for a bit then went to bed.

Next morning I decided to meet my parents at their Cabin outside of Penticton. I decided to hit some papers on the way for a chat and handshake resume drop with the editors. On the way from Cache Creek to Kamloops I cam earound a corner that had an amazing view of the desert valley below...coulda been out of the movie Duel had it not been so cold. It was there I pulled over and had what I promised to be my last cigarrette and threw the rest of the pack away.

When I got to the cabin I called a friend of mine who is a reporter for a nearby paper and she came up and played poker with the fam. Then next day I went in to Pentiction and met another friend working for CBC for lunch with the first friend. It was nice to catch up.
I stayed up for a couple extra days to hit some more papers and fianlly came home today.

I must have logged 1500 kms.
ahhhhhh!
