Grouphug?
I could certainly use one and I'm SURE a lot of you could as well. People here are keyed up, upset. Some have suffered major losses from the hurricane. We're all going bonkers over what is happening and what should be happening.

I bestow upon DU, a group hug because I hold many of you dear to my heart: :grouphug:

1. Back at you.....
I am stunned, bewildered and feeling guilty about eating and sleeping in relative comfort....

 :argh:

But here is the most important thing to help us make it through another night.....

I can't hardly eat because it upsets me to think of the folks in the south who are begging to be fed and housed ...

To do something....

and the feeling of helplessness turned to grief and now guilt...

13. I've had to turn the tv off
and NOT eat in the cafeteria at work where the large screen tv is. I tried to eat a bit ago and it all came right back up again ...

I feel so helpless, and starting to feel hopeless.

Let the tears come and wet your key board....

Then steel yourself for another day.....

It's OK that you're well-fed and have water, WC. That's the way it should be for everyone. That's why we're all so sad and so pissed. :)

Let's cry if we need to.

10. Oh boy, are you correct, my dear WC....
In addition to your emotions, I also feel enormous anger at our so-called leaders for their complete bungling of this avoidable situation...

Their behavior is criminal at the very least, IMHO....

More grouphugs are needed to drive away the demons that are possessing all of us during this wretched time:

15. I had some serious yellowjacket stings. It was a pretty serious
envenomation as far as stings are concerned and I mostly ignored them all week because I felt...well...that they weren't all that much compared to what the folks in New Orleans were going through. I thought about going without water and food in the heat...ugh.

Guilty...

Inside: "Don't whine about your petty little stings. You're eating. You're drinking. Buck up and ignore it."

Guilty...

Cry, let it out and then....

Fight the good fight tomorrow....

20. Rough week, but I didn't feel much like complaining.
I felt guilty.

My blood glucose was high, but not as high as those who had no insulin and medication. My neck hurt, but I was not in as much pain as those who had no water, no food, etc. I was feeling a bit like WC said, above, you know?

My being was tied up in knots over this travesty. I think a lot of us have gone through the fury/despair/fury/despair cycle this week. I was at the edge of tears all week...won't take much to make me cry. A person attack in GD did it tonight. It was over something so stupid that I should have realized that the person in question knew nothing about me, yet I started bawling. :wtf: Then I felt guilty for indulging in a personal pain when New Orleans is in agony. Sigh.

Swamp Rat's neighborhood catching on fire was particularly painful. It hurts to watch others in such pain.

How have you managed this week, IChing? What things affected you personally? Did you feel guilt? Sadness? Fury?

And some more group hugs: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

What a sweetie. :)

Still, you've been through a rough patch. We need to disperse some of the guilt we feel.

BTW, is Chi Gung like Tai Chi? What is it exactly?

38. I was given some DVD's around the same time
Done by a chinese master, the exercises can be done in standing, sitting etc.
I believe it would help your health as it has mine.
It's older than Tai Chi.
Chi Gung has been recognized for 4000 years in China.

Chi gung is perhaps described as breath or energy management techniques. Based on Chinese medical and Taoist philosophy. Some systems have borrowed from/given to Chinese martial arts. T`ai Chi for example is one long chi gung exercise.

All the systems share similar characteristics. There will be a standing/moving posture to hold. A breathing pattern to establish. Elements of self massage, either by gently striking/ touching the body or by the alignment of the limbs. Visualisations of the path taken by the breath.

22. Those confrontations hurt. Have you noticed that anger is always
a secondary emotion? It comes after being hurt or being frightened or some other emotion that causes pain. Then we get ANGRY! That's why so many have mentioned the fury / despair roller coaster. It hurts.

Did you post about your confrontation elsewhere? It's good to vent, get it out of your system.
