how do you ask a moderator a question?

A few threads were locked and I want to ask the moderator who locked it a question but when I click on the "send message" icon, I get this error message:

You can't send a message to that user.
That user does not wish to receive private messages.

Can someone here give me advice on what to do next so that I can have my question answered?

contact that Mod. Or maybe they can tell you.

I guess you could try to e-mail admin, but you will likely not get much of an answer.
