Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans... |
|
The Cafe Du Monde with the powder sugared Beignets and chickory coffee. I know it's been done before, but for those who missed posting their memories, have another go at it!
Saturday night memories...

6. I only have one memory of New Orleans |
|
and it was when I was down that way to deliver some goods to a Home Depot for my truck driving gig.
Apparently there are two highway 90s in New Orleans. One that is an interstate style freeway and one that is a business route that runs right through the heart of the city. I got the worng 90. I needed the freeway, but I was on the business route. I started going through neighborhoods and the traffic lights and traffic and tall buildings started to get denser. I started to get the idea that I was on the wrong road. The scenery was looking very unfriendly for semis. Finally I was at a place where I needed to turn left to follow 90 and it went right through downtown New Orleans. That street looked like it was about 5 ft wide to me with all the people and smaller delivery trucks and cars lining the street. There was a cop on the street corner that was looking at me as I sat there for a minute with my left turn signal on. His expression said, "That fucker better not turn that thing down that street." And I was in agreement. I went straight and saw a sign for Highway 90.
