Sunday morning talk shows cancelled: "unimaginable news event" |
|
Breaking: five major broadcast news networks announced tonight that all Sunday morning news talk shows would be cancelled until further notice. The cancellation affects Fox's "Fox News Sunday"; NBC's "Meet the Press"; CBS's "Face the Nation"; ABC's "This Week"; and CNN's "Late Edition".
A spokesperson for the networks explained: "We were prepared for a single major news event. We could not predict that Hurricane Katrina would be followed by the death of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. It was an ultra-catastrophe that exceeded the foresight of our producers."
Offers of emergency airlifts of pundits have already come from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC, and Al-Jazeera.
