2. I know what you are talking about
I fixed that when I bought a little house. It's just me and I don't need too much space. My house payment is actually less than rent for an apartment with the same square footage.

11. I walked 3.5 miles at the gym then
a friend of mine called me up later in the evening and wanted to go for a walk along a bike trail that was built on top of a levy for a river that runs along side our town. We walked 4 miles and had a very nice talk along the way. He is someone I've known since I was a kid. It was good to see him exercising. He's not a fat guy like me, but he smokes reefer and cigarettes. I think maybe my health kick is starting to influence him.

13. that's awesome Droopy
You are doing SO well my friend! Your heart and lungs thank you I'm sure. I'll bet you ARE having a good influence on your friend.

I just need more stamina. I'm thinking of buying a treadmill if I can find something affordable without all the gadgetry.

I've lost a lot of weight now, and it's time to get exercising!

:)

14. I wasn't able to walk very far when I started working out
At least not at a good pace. I would walk 1/2 mile one day and a mile the next. I alternated that for a little while until I just naturally felt like I could go further. Now I'm up to 3.5 miles a day. That represents one hour on the treadmill at the gym. I was walking for 5 weeks before I did my first 3.5 mile walk. I've lost 17 pounds now.

Take it easy on yourself when you start walking. Your body should tell you when it's time to stop. Don't push it hard at first.

9. You make it easy
to love and be loved Ms Peggy :)

the larger point ...

One Man's Ceiling Is Another Man's Floor

Paul Simon:

There’s been some hard feelings here
About some words that were said
There’s been some hard feelings here
And what is more
There’s been a bloody purple nose
And some bloody purple clothes
That were messing up the lobby floor
It’s just apartment house rules
So all you ‘partment fools
Remember: one man’s ceiling
Is another man’s floor
Remember: one man’s ceiling
Is another man’s floor

There’s been some strange goin’s on
And some folks have come and gone
And the elevator man don’t work no more
I heard a racket in the hall
And I thought I heard a fall
But I never opened up my door
It’s just apartment house sense
It’s like apartment rents
Remember: one man’s ceiling
Is another man’s floor
Remember: one man’s ceiling
Is another man’s floor

And there’s an alley
In the back of my building
Where some people congregate in shame
I was walking with my dog
And the night was black with smog
When I thought I heard somebody
Call my name

The Lounge is full of all sorts of lovers..

the traditional type, and then there's us...the people who love their neighbors, whether real or virtual...

And all of you are sometimes more real than the folks in my own neighborhood...

Group hugs all around! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
