I have this uncontrollable urge to smoke weed and drink |
|
Mind you--I haven't done this in 25 years...but it sure seems like a good time to resume.;)

I haven't smoked pot that much in my life.
The last time I did was 10 years ago.
It was at a Moody Blues concert. They played live with an orchestra and it was wonderful. Prior to the concert, I hadn't smoked pot for several years, but someone passed me a joint and I sucked the entire thing down.
That was a lovely evening. I ate an entire box of Twinkies.

16. Yes, munchies are wonderful on many levels... |
|
You feel like a kid--stuffing junk food in.
Plus, usually you're laughing your ass off (well, I do anyway) while you're eating, which makes it extra fun.

I'll bring the munchies.
I know what you mean though...it doesn't help.
However, I feel the need to relax and decompress and pot makes me so mellow.
Listen to me...I sound like Cheech.

usually in times of distress like this, I self medicate. It helps me kind of disconnect. Things dont hurt as much. I simply dont feel. Why I know that this isnt really truly healthy, I helped me keep from going crazy on a number of occassions.
This time Ive had a few moments where I really wanted to smoke. But I just cant imagine it would really help much.. and I know I need to feel this.
I think I was made with the inability to digest alcohol for a reason. I cant get drunk. Only sick. If not, Id probably be an alcoholic.

18. I've been stoned the better part of two weeks. |
|
They say it is for people who can't handle reality and I guess they're right. Somebody mentioned Scalia as Chief Justice and I just took another big toke.
Then when I am completely sober, I see Bush on teevee and I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. At least when I'm stoned I can kind of relate to bizarro-world. Still unbelievably pissed off and sad.
I can't wait till the 24th. I'm going to go protest and hopefully that will relieve some of my frustration.

32. I want to go to that bar in the Quarter that stayed open. |
|
I used to go down there 25 years ago, when I lived in Patterson. Not that bar, but the French Quarter. Back then, you could still find a beer for $.75 if you avoided the tourist places.
I read about a bar that still hasn't closed. That's my kind of place and a good reason to revisit NO after the cleanup. Need to go pump up the economy and all that, eh?

In other words, it didn't help much.

45. When your done smoking the weed. Don't forget to |
|
take an axe and chop up your Family! :wow:
What the hell was Anslinger smoking? That's what I want to know.
Anslinger and Bush give sobriety a bad name. Well okay it was a bad name to begin with. The word sobriety comes from the greek Sobrius. Sobrius was a demon of the underworld. He held men to great labors and sufferings. He was the antithesis of Morpheus the God of sleep and creator of the Dream World. Morpheus took pity upon mortals as watched them laboring and suffering under Sobrius until they laid down and became dead. So Mopheus created a world between life and death for the mortal to fall back into and escape Sorius and rest. This is the dream world. The life of mortals wasn't one long hard day full of suffering any more. With Morpheus' gift of sleep. It became many little days with a little strife. The once great demon Sobrius was deminished but not vanquished. Into everyones life a little suffering must creep. If only to remind us of how good life can be and how important it is to have a world of Dreams.
This Wizard's bedtime story is a little know ancient greek fable. One of my favorites. So good night and Pleasent Dreams. :)

49. Have you not done this because.... |
|
1. you just grew up and decided not to?
or
2. you are in recovery?
If the answer is #1, go for it, have a little fun, then get back to life.
If the answer is #2, think long and hard about what lead you to get sober in the first place.
Not trying to rain on any parades, but life experiences give me an entirely different point of view on this stuff. Best wishes. :)
