My boyfriend bought me a 1983 Honda Civic |
|
He only paid 250.00 for it and it's beat up pretty bad. It only costs 25.00 to fill the tank and I get 30 miles to the gallon. I am not embarrassed to drive it, I would be more embarrassed driving an SUV with today's gas prices.

1. Civics are great cars! |

I had a '93 Civic. I got it from my ex-bf in lieu of money he owed me. It had no paint (primer only), no radio, no A/C, and 135,000 miles on the odometer, but it was built like a tank and never once left me on the side of the road through 2 1/2 years of pizza delivery.
The only major repairs it needed were rebuilt CV axles and a new radiator. Other than that, a daily check on the fluid levels and an oil change every 3,000 miles kept it running faithfully.
Civics rule!

3. I had a '78 Civic once... |
|
which was nothing more than a four-wheeled motorcycle. It got 35 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. A friend rolled it one night, but he walked away. Then I replaced it with a '79 Civic. It saved a life one night because of where I had parked it. The driver of the other vehicle was in an early '70s model pickup who was speeding. As he tried to take a curve which came over a slight hill he did not make it and hit my car head on. If my car had not been parked where it was, he would have plowed into an oak tree which had a trunk three feet thick. The engine of my car was in the front seat, but the other driver backed up and then sped off into the night. There was no way to follow him as my car was totaled.
Hondas are good, reliable cars and go almost forever. I've also had a '79 and '87 Accord.
