Simple Geek question: I lost all the instructions for my Scanner |

Haven't used it for a while. HP 4400c...
I seem to remeber that I plugged it in the same place as my printer. Am I right on this.....
Also, the is parrellel port. Can I use this to connect my scanner....

If it's round, use the serial port.
If it's oblong, use the parallel port.

That's what I am remember. I kept the cable attached to the computer and then switched between the printer and the scanner...
Mu office is a mess, cleaning and rearranging...
It's been so long since I sould get the printer and the scanner close enough......

4. Once you have it plugged in |

Put in the set-up disk, if it hasn't already been done, and follow the instructions.
Once all of that is done, open up the lid of the scanner and put your picture in the top left corner. Close the lid. Double click on the scanner icon or connection icon and click on "preview scan". If you like what you see, press "scan to" and select the folder you want your picture in. Then press okay. The scanner will warm up and then scan.
