Any of you Guys have this problem (when Dating) ??
I've just about gotten to the point that when I take a Lady to the Movies, I have to make sure that it's not going to be a film that's sappy or rather emotional.
I'm one of those people that cry watching a love story...Yeah OK..I can be a Wuss when it comes to the scene where the 2 lovers (at the end of the film ) are rushing across the field to reassure each other that they are totally, completely in love.
I've had to almost shut my eyes and think of car-racing or something when those types of scenes are playing.

..Or now I think about it..Maybe I just need a better class of Woman (Date)

1. Why would that be an issue?
I would think the right kind of woman would think it was sweet that you can be sentimental.

3. I love it when my husband cries at movies
It's a sign of strength to be able to show emotion, I think.

4. Why bother with movies and dinner? Just ask them for sex!
Just get to the point! ;)

13. They are more likely to agree
IF THEY GOT DINNER AND A MOVIE FIRST.

Duh!

The ol' "Hi, my name is _____. Let's have sex" will get you a swift kick in the wedding tackle. Nothing more.

A good dinner, and a movie which you cry at? That might have more bargaining power.

5. there is a difference if it's a first date or 10th or beyond
I think *some* women may think it strange that a guy cries at a movie on the first date, as it is not a normal thing for a guy to do.

however, once you get to know a woman, I'm sure it would be fine.

6. I'm
:loveya: you already.

My ex used to cry at movies, weddings, etc...he is far more emotional than I am. I never judged him for it, in fact I respected his feelings, and the fact he felt comfortable enough to do it. (the ex part had nothing to do with him crying, he still is a wonderful man)

If a woman can't handle a guy crying...it's her loss.

7. So, is the field full of landmines?
Otherwise, I don't really know what kind of movie you mean...

However, I do think that sobbing on a first date will generally not lead to a second. Showing emotion is great once the relationship is developed, but I do think that everything on a first date gets invested with an extra helping of significance, and crying will probably send the wrong message...

except for the last unnumbered one. I am sort of average looking, but besides that am near the top in most categories. Maybe I am setting my sights too high. Right now I am trying to get a beautiful woman of my own age group, with whom I've been friends for years, to have dinner with me. I am up to strike 4, and I think I'm out.

Edit: They don't really think of me as a "father figure", since I only am interested in those in my own general age group (I'm 48). But the others apply, I think.

The story is just that touching. Any woman worth her salt will appreciate a man showing some emotion.

18. Be who you are. Cry at a movie if you feel like it.
If the date has a problem with it, she's not the right one.

Game-playing during dating is BS. There, I said it.

19. I cry at the movies all the time
However, I would not want to do it on a first date. I would spend much of the first date trying to figure out if she's someone who could handle it if I cried at the movies. If not, I wouldn't bother with a second date.

You're a hopeless romantic. That's a good thing. It's serving me well.

21. I have no problem with the love stories
it's the "inspirational teacher" or "father/son" genres that always get me going.

BTW, I agree with some of the earlier responses. Cry like a baby. It will show that you are sensitive and tender.

25. You shouldn't go to a movie on a first date
Do something where you can talk and interact. If you go to a movie, you two are just sitting there like two blobs. You need to be able to converse throughout the date. No movies til third date.

28. I'm with that
I think live music (you can talk during the breaks), or an art fair, or a ball game if she likes sports, are better - more interactive.
