"Where is the Love?" (Black Eyed Peas)
People killing, people dying Children hurting, you hear them crying If you practiced what you preach Would you turn the other cheek? Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above Cause people got me got me questioning Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love, the love, the love?

I just happened to find a torrent link to It early this morning. I will be buying the CD soon, I just don't have the money to buy It this week. I posted a audio link to "Sweet Neo Con" here. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=109x22685:)

Tori Amos - Pancake
i'm not sure who's fooling who here as i'm watching your decay we both know you could deflate a 7 hurricane seems like you and your tribe decided you'd rewrite the law segregate the mind from body , from soul
you give me yours i'll give you mine cause i can look your god right in the eye you give me yours i'll give you mine you used to look my god right in the eye
i believe in defending in what we once stood for it seems in vogue to be a closet misogynist homophobe
a change of course in our direction a dash of truth spread thinly like a flag on a popstar on a benzodiazapene
oh zion please remove your glove and dispel every trace of his spoken word that has lodged in my vortex
i'm not sure who's fooling who here as i'm watching your decay we both know you could deflate a 7 hurricane you could have spared her - oh but no messiahs need people dying in their name messiahs need people dying in their name you say "i ordered you a pancake"

18. I was listening to Tales Of A Librarian |
|
in the car. I actually kept driving to keep listening....
and this part in one song hit me and I listened to it again and again and maybe I'm crazy but it really meant something, it was real and raw:
"So you found a girl who thinks really deep thoughts, what's so amazing about really deep thoughts? Boy you'd best pray I bleed real soon. How's that thought for you?"
It's obvious what she was talking about. And I will never end up pregnant (or worrying about it). But something about the lyric. something about her voice - it just wasn't that simple....
It's why I love her. She's a fantastic musician and song writer, but most of all she makes me think! And the obvious answers are rarely the correct ones.....

Assemblage 23 - Maps of Reality
"I suppose in your mind you believe you were right That the matter doesn't rest heavy on your shoulders But be careful of the ones you wish to indict Blame is merely in the eye of the beholder
Perhaps the time is right to look yourself in the eye Take inventory of the world you see around you Look at the allegations you were quick to deny And ask yourself if they could possibly be true
Distorted maps of reality Are tearing us apart Fan the flames of fallacy And watch the truth depart Belief is what you make of it A creation of your own If the outcome is unfit Let your conscience take the blow
It's everybody else's fault besides your own But perhaps the finger's pointing in the wrong direction Consider that the root of all that you bemoan Is pictured in the visage of your own reflection
I don't expect your view to change, my God, why should it? You have yourself convinced that you can do no wrong There's not a chance at all that you will ever admit The cause of this is you and has been all along
Distorted lines become an arc become a circle The words entwined until the very meaning is gone The truth is something for which you can find no purpose It's just a starting point to drape more lies upon
I wish you luck, I really do, because you'll need it You can't avoid reality for too long And everything collapses into waves of regret When you finally understand that it was you who was wrong
Distorted maps of reality Are tearing us apart Fan the flames of fallacy And watch the truth depart Belief is what you make of it A creation of your own If the outcome is unfit Let your conscience take the blow"

Hear the sound of the falling rain Coming down like an Armageddon flame (Hey!) The shame The ones who died without a name
Hear the dogs howling out of key To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (Hey!) And bleed, the company lost the war today
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies This is the dawning of the rest of our lives On holiday
Hear the drum pounding out of time Another protestor has crossed the line (Hey!) To find, the money's on the other side
Can I get another Amen? (Amen!) There's a flag wrapped around a score of men (Hey!) A gag, a plastic bag on a monument
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies This is the dawning of the rest of our lives On holiday
(Hey!) (Say, Hey!)
"The representative from California has the floor"
Zieg Heil to the president gasman Bombs away is your punishment Pulverize the Eiffel towers Who criticize your government Bang bang goes the broken glass and Kill all the fags that don't agree Trials by fire, setting fire Is not a way that's meant for me Just cause, just cause, because we're outlaws yeah!
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies This is the dawning of the rest of our lives I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
This is our lives on holiday

10. Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond |
|
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond. You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond. Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light. Shine on you crazy diamond. Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

24. Kicking one more time |
|
Then a new thread can be created at a later date.
I managed to buy the Click Five, and I put Hope Partlow on my Amazon.com Wish List. Right now, I'm listening to Greatings From Imrie House by the Click Five. I didn't think I'd like them when I heard about them, but they really are addictive! I'm leaning towards an A/A- rating for the CD.
