5. Yeah I loved the Ring, |
|
Ringu was ok, but I thought some parts were kind of corny, and some of the dialogue was just strange, but perhaps it makes more sense to a Japananese viewer. I liked "the Grudge" too. I personally like the American versions better, but the best ideas were japanese---it is just that I understand the American versions better

If you enjoy yelling at your television screen, then you'll have a good time. ;-)

and honestly, I liked the American version more. Not that anything was wrong with the Japanese version. The original had weird dialogue and other stuff that probably made more sense to a Japanese viewer than to me. But the best ideas in modern horror flicks, and the scariest films since the Exorcist were products of japanese writers and directors.

8. What I thought Ringu had going for it |
|
was a total lack of lavish Hollywood production values. The film quality was so amateurish it almost had a documentary/newsreel quality, so it seemed like "it really happened." And that made it scary for me, even though I had already seen "The Ring."

The only movie I seriously considered being an a-hole customer and demanding my money back. Unfortunately, no one can give me back the time.
