14. I saw last night that Ernest T was only in
6 episodes. I had no idea-would have guessed 15-20. He seemed such a major character. Guess it was just the knowledge that Ernest T was somewhere, waitin' to chunk rocks at the Englishers and loving Charlene.

20. I Named My Dog Barney, In Honor of Deputy Fife
When he gets real riled up, i tell him "Put your bullet back in your pocket, Barney." LOL!

Also, i have a trivia game of the Andy Griffith Show. My wife bought it for one of my b-days.

When i went in for my spinal tap (the last test to confirm MS), i had to lay flat on my back for 3 hours after the procedure. She brought the game cards and i just played AGS trivia for 2 hours. Great way to pass that time. The questions on that game are REAL hard!

5. Didn't Aunt Bee abhor Andy?
I remember reading somewhere that the actor who played Aunt Bee hated Andy.

8. I saw the fellow
who played Ernest T. being interviewed once and he related how hateful Aunt Bee was to everyone on the set. I don't know, but she sure seemed capable of it.

19. On The A&E Videography. . .
. . .they went into some detail about Frances Bavier. I guess she pretty much hated everyone. She had aspirations about being a great actress and loathed the sitcom role into which she was cast. She took it out on everyone on the show.

In last night's "Return to Mayberry" they were extraordinarily kind to her and did not mention this cast problem, at all. Pretty classy!

22. If any of you dirty Yaknees want to know what the south is really like
watch that show. Okay there were no "people of color" on it (consider when it was televised) but the first professional woman on TV (the pharmacist) was on the Andy Griffith Show. Women are depicted on that show much like they are reveared around here, we loves our mommas.

Go ahead bring it on.

24. Otis is the MAN!
What can you say about a town drunk who voluntarily locks himself up at night? :-)

BTW...the actor who played Otis (and whose name temporarily escapes me), was a teetotaler in real life.

He also does lots of animation voices, notably Owl in the Disney Winnie-the-Pooh cartoons.

Yes, of course.

He did a lot of voiceover work for Hanna-Barbera as well, I believe.
