3. I don't know anything about Bob Denver
but I'm glad he's now free of cancer and heart problems. RIP, Mr. Denver.

5. I was around to watch him play Maynard G. Krebs . . .
. . . on the Dobie Gillis show. He played a Beatnik on that TV show. He never had a job, and when any other character mentioned it, he yelled, "WORK?"

:)

7. Yep, I watched Dobie Gillis in re-runs.
There was something naive and sweet about him.

6. It's sad
He was a good guy; was a unrepentant toker, too. I always loved him on Dobie Gillis as Maynard G. Krebs; his favorite film was "The Beast That Ate Cleveland!"

He was a part of my childhood as Gilligan..

13. Dobie Gilllis is like a figment of my imagination.
Zelda, Maynard G. Krebbs. It's been a thousand years since I've seen that. I wonder if it will be released on DVD sometime.

9. Between this and the OU loss to TCU Saturday...
my friends and I will be in mourning for months. This is almost as bad as Scotty dying a few weeks ago.

12. Actually, I am.
I went to the season opener against Minnesota last week. We had a great tailgate. It was quite a ways from the stadium and right beside the Minnesota fans, but they were really nice. We watched a couple of other games while we ate chicken fajitas and waited for the game to begin (at 9:20). Unfortunately, that was the most fun we had that evening, as Minnesota pretty much thrashed TU from the opening play.

14. .
My dad's one of the biggest TU football fans who ever walked the earth. I spent many a Saturday at Skelly Stadium during the John Cooper era. :hi:
