I GOT A NEW STAPLER!!!

This isn't it but it is a picture of what it looks like

Since I have a headcold and one side of my nose is clogged up-it makes it that much funnier.

Just walking around the office proclaiming "I've Gottth a new sthapler"

3. Hey, now . . .
I feel underpants' joy. I remember how happy I was when I got my staple gun. I was even happier when I finally figured out how to load the stables into it. (I used it for stretching canvases, back in the day before I could afford to buy gallery wrap.)

:hi:

4. Funny Stapler story (who doesn't have one?)
I got one of those new fangled ones 10 years ago (new fangled at the time) and was using it upside down- apparently I was firing them into the wall not into the project I was working on.

8. My sweetheart had the oven shelves in back wards for three years...
She thought it was nice there were "Safety edges" on the front,
but, she kept complaining about the shelves tipping. Especially,
when loaded down with a whole turkey.

Although, I corrected the shelves... We now have a holiday
tradition of dropping a pie on the floor.

Years from now people will wonder where that tradition came
from.

It's symbolic.

;)

6. If it had been a white-out pen... It'd be different.
But, a stapler?

Come on! The supply room is only trying to get you
addicted. Next thing you know, they're selling you refills.

I've seen it happen a thousand times.

:)

11. But, but, but . . .
staplers are so . . . handy. They're a symbol of human evolution, dontcha know. Why, I remember back in the old days, when we had to trudge through a foot of snow in the middle of Oklahoma summer, barefoot, to borrow paper clips from rich neighbors. :eyes:

16. You were a paper clip bootlegger?
Yeah, I remember filling out the forms to use a staple... There were
three forms, which then had to be stapled together and another staple use approval document had to be produced. Kept us very busy. Until the staple management function was outsourced. Now, my job is mainly administrative.

20. My dark past of a paperclip bootlegger has been revealed.
(One of the things I love about technology is _fewer papers to staple_ !)

So now that staple management is contracted out, you job basically is to boss around a bunch of underlings? ;)

25. Heavens no! All of the underlings were outsourced too.
My job now is to sit at my empty desk (with the fan on it) and
try to keep from squeaking my desk chair.

It's a lonely thankless task... But, it's my way of
contributing to the good of the company.

Did I mention I have a fan on my desk?

:)

26. Why, your career is running almost exactly parallel to
my former career as a newspaper editor. Our reporters were "down-sized" in favor of several wire services (wire services have no health costs, nor any need for maternity/paternity leave or workman's comp/FICA matches, dontcha know).

Have you considered moving to Europe and becoming a painter?

P.S. I envy you your fan.

28. Nah, I'm going to find a nice mountain top cave and become a guru/hermit.
The only thing holding me back is...

I'm worried about my fan! What will happen to my fan?

29. We have mountain-top caves here!
And fans, too. (But no AC. Switzerland favors universal health insurance over universal air conditioning).

 --- > "I'm worred about my fan! What will happen to my fan?"

31. Well, perhaps I can find a good cubical for it.
It needs a loving home... Where it'll be appreciated.

*sigh*

It's been a good fan.

It has been very very good to me.

Maybe it is time for me to move on... To higher challenges!

Hey! I could get a clock! I've always wanted an office clock!

An office clock is a big responsibility... What with having
to be changed twice a year and kept correct.

Wow!

I hope I can handle it!

:)

May I be president (or even co-vice-president) of your international fan club? I'm all into office supplies, fans, clocks and stuff.

33. Sure thing!
I'd think you'd want a position where direct handling of
the office stock is required.

Like Meeting Note Taker, Secretary, or Prime Minister.

Proper aerodynamics is an important consideration in

My former administrative assistant got it for me for a going away present when I got laid off from my previous job. We're both big fans of Office Space, and she knew it would make the transition easier.
