This is what I think of about New Orleans.
My mind wanders off... what happened to all the fortune tellers that lined the street near the river?
I think of the kids tap dancing for money.
The young concierge in the hotel.
The incredible sax player I heard in a bar with overpriced drinks I could never find again if I had tried.
The time share sales lady who loved her home town of "N'awlins."
The 2 statue guys we took pictures with, one lit up a joint for my pic, the other was a "football player."
Even the guy who scammed me out of $5 by telling me where I "got those shoes." :eyes:

In no other city that I have visited have I interacted with the people the way I did in New Orleans. It was a different breed of familiarity that they have.

I hope they can go back home.

I hope they are alive.

1. You couldn't have said it any better. Those
are my same memories. And I too got scammed for the "where I got my shoes". You described New Orleans to a tee! I wish them well too!

3. The shoe scam...
I got asked, but I didn't take the bait... I figured the answer was "You got 'em on your feet in New Orleans, Louisiana"... is that the actual punchline? I didn't stick around to find out.
