12. He asked Henrique Cardoso. |
|
Condoleezza Rice told him Brazil has more blacks than the US and probably more than any country outside of Africa.

He said it to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso in Washington, D.C. on November 8, 2001. It was Condoleezza Rice, national security advisor, who helped her boss out of the embarassing situation. During a conversation between the two presidents, George W. Bush, 55, (USA) and Fernando Henrique Cardoso, 71, (Brazil), Bush bewildered his colleague with the question "Do you have blacks, too?" Rice, 47, noticing how astonished the Brazilian was, saved the day by telling Bush "Mr. President, Brazil probably has more blacks than the USA. Some say it's the country with the most blacks outside Africa." Later, Brazilian president Cardoso said, regarding Latin America, Bush was still in his "learning phase."http://www.rense.com/general25/braz.htm

I heard bush talking about a senator from one of the devastated areas. He said that the senator's home was destroyed and that he was looking forward to when the senator rebuilt a bigger and better house, so that he could go sit on the new front porch. That was a thoughtless thing to say, when so many will not be able to afford to rebuild. And, of course, bush had that "shit eaten" grin on his face when he said it. bush would be better off if he just hid out in the white house and kept his big mouth shut!

17. This one is dumb because it was during the second 2004 debate |
|
and he was asked what the biggest mistake he had made was:
I wish you'd have given me this written question ahead of time so I could plan for it…I'm sure something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with answer, but it hadn't yet….I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes. I'm confident I have. I just haven't — you just put me under the spot here, and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one.

18. "I own a timber company? That's news to me. Need some wood?" |

Followed by his usual asinine shoulders-bobbling-up-and-down laugh: "Eh-eh-enh-mneh-heh!"
(This was during the second Presidential debate, for those keeping score.)
