11. But there is no C-a-l in Hus to remind you of Calvary
And then you'll just be sitting there not knowing which word is which and thinking of a man whos atempts at reformation of the church ended abruptly when he was burned at the stake.

12. there is however, an H-U-S
reminding me of Jesus' middle initial and the greatest country on the earth, and also for me to remind people to make like a puppy and hush. You know it's better to burn out than to be remembered as a grimm predestinarian with a stick up your a$$. :evilfrown:

7. "Pooh looked at his two paws.
He knew that one of them was the right, and he knew that when you had decided which one of them was the right, then the other one was the left, but he never could remember how to begin."

It would be worse if you had to lead the cavalry charge up Calvary.

8. Calvary is the hill; Cavalry is the horses.
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 05:40 PM by Aristus
Keep it straight.

'Calvarius' was the name the Romans gave to the hill just outside the walls of Jerusalem where criminals were executed. The Hebrew name for the hill, 'Golgotha', means 'the place of the skull'. This was probably a reference not to the number of skulls of dead criminals may have been present there, but to the shape and appearance of the hill itself; jagged and forbidding.

13. Quick way to remember the difference
My instructor in MI school taught us this one:

Calvary is the place Jesus was crucified.

Cavalry are the people who took him there.
