What's the best Site Stats program? |
|
My host provides Webalyzer, which seems totally inadequate for my needs. I dl'd AWStats, and went through the entire installation...but then got to the command line thing, and found out I don't have direct access to my server log file.
I am not looking for a freebie. Preferably, I want a program with no logo/icon display requirement (I know, I'll probably have to pay for this feature), and one which covers the entire site without having to be installed on individual pages.
Any recommendations?

It's free and very cool. Check out my own site at www.brainshrub.com and look at the bottom-left corner of the page. (Clicking on the Site Meter icon will give you more info about it.)

2. I was just checking that one out |
|
on their page. Even at $6.95-9.85/month, it isn't a bad deal. Seems to offer lots of valuable info. I am trying not to incur more expenses related to the site, but this would more that likely pay for itself through better targeting and hopefully, conversions.
Yeah, Site Meter looks cool...I was just seeing if there were any others I don't know about before I make the committment. Thanks!

4. Not free for the detail I am looking for |
|
That is the problem. Webalyzer is free, too. But the info it gives me only touches the surface, same with Site Stats...go to the "Update Account" link and see all the cool stats you get for that $6.95 -- far, far more that with the free version.

5. Dude, search for a free tracking script on the net |
|
I am sure there are at least 10 of them. Most are better than webalizer. A simple script can do better than webalizer. Just do a little research and you'll find one for free. I am sorry I could not help any more but I just don't have the time to search now. I am sure I've seen free ones and I am sure they were cool.
Good Luck!!!
