The guy and his dog on Oprah yesterday
She's done a couple of amazing shows on Katrina, showing the unvarnished truth on what's going on down there.

But the one that left me a blubbering mess was the guy and his dog; they wouldn't let him take the dog w/ him on the bus to safety. But it had a happy ending.

It's here on

if you want to see it...

1. thanks for sharing this link...
I missed the Oprah show yesterday and had heard about this particular segment. I wanted to see it, but didn't know where/how. I just viewed it, and found it very powerful. I love animals and have absolutely no idea what I would do, if I were in the same situation. Thank God for Nate.

4. Absolutely
I never heard of Nate because I don't watch Oprah much, but after watching him do this, I've got all the admiration in the world for him. And you can tell it affected him too; he was crying right along w/ that guy when they were hugging at the end.

2. Throughout the days since the tragedy of Katrina
it all becomes so poignantly overwhelming, and I cry again...this just did it again to me. Thanks for sharing.

To be reunited with someone you love after such life-changing devastation plays a chord of compassion that only the most hard-hearted would never hear.

3. Shoot, that guy is only 24 years old, and he's had the dog
for 14 years, which means he's had the dog since he was 10 years old. Thanks for sharing that.
