I'm not a lounge regular, but I seek refuge here.

I posted what I thought were fairly innocuous beliefs in the General Discussion forum, and was accused of being a Klansman, a Rove plant, and a willing dupe.

Why?

Because I argued that incompetence and apathy were adequate to explain the problems in the Gulf Coast, rather than an active desire on the part of the government to commit genocide.

I also got slammed hard for using the word "refuge", while quoting Samuel Johnson. Somebody thought I'd used the word "refugee" and just went ape-shit on me.

I love this site, and I like a lot of you people, but damn! Chill the fuck out!
