Britney Thinks Her Baby Is A Boy, Wants A Cesarean To Avoid The Pain
<snip>

NEW YORK -- Britney Spears says she doesn't know if she's going to have a boy or a girl, but she thinks it's a boy.

She told Elle magazine that she wants a cesarean section because she doesn't want to go through pain. She said her mother told her giving birth was "the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life."

She said she always knew she'd have a child, but there are times when she's a little scared. She's hoping it will be good for her, though.

Spears said she used to be an introvert. This from a woman who once pranced around half-naked with a snake around her neck and later kissed Madonna in front of millions of TV viewers.

Spears said that she's come out of her shell since marrying Kevin Federline and getting pregnant. She said marriage and motherhood will help her "not be influenced so much" by what other people think.

2. What a wus! Women have gone through
child birth forever. Cesareans are no walk in the park either. She needs to step up.

5. I hardly think fear of the pain of childbirth is "wussy."
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 08:39 AM by BlueIris
Just because women have "gone through childbirth forever" doesn't mean it isn't horribly painful. It's different for everyone. But she is being a moron if she thinks a c-section is a walk in the park compared to even a normal or "easy" delivery. Not according to any woman I know who's had both. It makes me sad when women like Brit-Brit, with enough money to get the best medical care money can buy, clearly haven't been very well informed by their physicians or other professional advisors about this part of pregnancy and health. So sad.

7. I know that having a fear of child birth
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:11 AM by Shell Beau
is not wussy. I don't know anyone who wouldn't fear it. I meant that her thinking a C-section wouldn't painful is just silly. She was so anxious to have a baby. Child birth is part of it and I am sure well worth the pain. I worded it wrong, but she does need to step it up and be a woman about it and quit whining. Wus may have been the wrong word, but most women don't come out publicly saying they fear the pain. I am just irritated with her and her tactics. It is just something else for attention. But everythiing you've said it 100% true!

17. Oh. Sorry. But I still think
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:27 AM by BlueIris
she's allowed to "whine." Except--you'd think she'd be past the "whining" stage and onto "how do I deal with this like a (moneyed, allowed-to-have-access-to-effective-pain-management-strategies) reasonable person" stage at this point. Which is sort of like what you posted. And you're right that all of these articles do make her seem like she is just trying to get as much attention as possible as a result of being pregnant.

19. Yeah!! Whining, sure to friends and family.
But I am not about to feel sorry for her (not that you do) when she has the money that most of us would love to have to raise children. I will be scared to death when it comes to having my kids, but I wouldn't choose a C-section unless the doc thought it was best. That just goes to show how little she actually knows!! :eyes: She loves the attention. She'll probably use her baby to get more. That is a harsh thing to say, but I wouldn't put it past her.

25. It's tough to listen to her whine when her homestate has been destroyed
She's was born & raised in Southern Louisiana - you'd think she'd be a little bit upset about what happened to her state

30. Absolutely!
I would love to see what she contributes! Even the town in MS that she went to school in suffered a great deal of damage! I wonder what she'll do. Probably give that money to her hubby to go spend in Vegas!

I wouldn't expect Britney to wade through sewage with Sean Penn to rescue people, but at least shut her yap about her (apparently routine) pregnancy.

3. A cesarean to avoid pain?

A scheduled c-section to avoid labor eliminates labor pain, but generally speaking, a woman who had a vaginal delivery has a far shorter recovery time.

Try 4-6 weeks of recovery from major surgery while caring for a newborn. Ah well, I actually took care of my own children instead of having nannies doing it for me. :eyes:

6. That's what I was thinking
But again, if you're not the one taking care of the child, I guess recovery isn't so much of an issue. Don't have to worry about splitting open an incision by lifting a baby or a box of diapers.

And she makes a great deal of money showing off her belly. Has anyone ever shown her a C-section scar?

28. All my kids were c-sections.
(Big babies with big heads that didn't want to come out despite days of labor.)
The scars are pretty small. Basically (not to be too graphic), but it's just a 4-5 inch horizontal line over the pubic area. If you can get toned again and would choose to wear one, you can wear a bikini and no one would see any scar. Nothing scary at all.

I never had a c-section, but I know that they cut very low -- well below the belly button if you know what I mean.

18. What a ridiculous statement
This is one of the problems in the good old USA. Everything is easy. Don't like your boobs get new ones, want something new now, charge it. The kid is too immature to have responsibility for another life. Childbirth is comparatively simple now a days. A needle to the spine and you feel nothing from the waist down. Why would she even consider a surgical procedure in place of a normal delivery? I bet she voted for *bush too. No common sense.

23. She did.
She had an interview with I don't know who, and she is like,
Britney (chomping madly on gum): Oh, I completely support the President.

Says something else to the extent of what a good man he is... Blah blah blah. But it's been shown numerous times on VH-1 specials, and I must admit I love my VH-1 specials. (And I'm being serious, those things attract me like magnets to metal).

24. Brittney - do you even care that your home state has been destroyed
You were born about an hour north of New Orleans - doesn't any of that death & destruction make you think of how trivial your life is compared to what is happening to your home state?

And btw, there were women from YOUR HOME STATE who actually had to deliver their child without any medical help because of the destruction and inability to find medical help.

Doesn't this mean anything to you?

I was born & raised in the Harrisburg PA area - if something destroyed my hometown I would make that my most important focus to help it rebuild.

Get over yourself

And whether he said that or anything like it, he's a loser. So, here's another word, Brintney:

Divorce. You, your baby, and your body deserve better.

33. Not very smart, Britney. A Caesarean section is major surgery.
The recovery time is longer than for a typical vaginal birth. It carries the risks associated with major surgery, and, of course, there is the scarring.

I have not had a C-section myself, but from what I understand, the recovery time can be very painful.

Having major surgery to "avoid pain" is...well...stupid.

No ethical doctor will schedule a C-section simply because his patient is afraid of childbirth.

34. She sounds like a little girl playing house
Suddenly confronted with reality. Which doesn't surprise me - most of what's come out of her mouth has struck me as very immature and childish. She reminds me of those young girls who want to have a baby because they "love babies" but they have no idea what being a parent really means.

I pity the poor child - a self-absorbed prima donna for a mother and a philandering moran for a dad. Oh, and a charming grandmother (her mother told her giving birth was "the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life." - nice thing to tell a young, pregnant girl!).
