A nightmare about a big city
I dreamt I was in Boston and the city had undergone vast restoration. I was trying at first to find a bank, which I finally did, and then wanted to go home.

Appears the "new" city had pretty much built an entire, multi-multi level of underground stores, dealers, hucksters, strange businesses selling bizarre stuff, and you could walk for miles underground and above ground in this "new" city. The only thing is, there was no signs of train stops or subways, and you had to be very, very clever to find them. I wandered around for 10 hours to try and find one, and finally one person took pity on me and showed me the special, partially hidden doors to take me to the subway system. There were very strange things going on, though a lot of the places were supposedly to get jobs. Big, gargantuan motifs on walls, with fiber optic light emanating from structures, and the occasional celebrity face (for some reason).

I guess I was substituting Boston for New Orleans, as part of the "no way out" escape part, only changing it slightly to be less miserable.
