Controversy over naked sushi in Seattle
http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/11/12/offbeat.naked.sushi.ap/index.html

<snip>
SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Promoters insist it's performance art. Detractors say women are getting a raw deal.

Whatever the case, the controversy over the Bonzai nightclub serving sushi on nearly naked women isn't about to fade anytime soon.

"It's dehumanizing, the manner in which people are buying and selling sushi to be eaten off a woman's body. It's dehumanizing to be treated as a plate," said Cherry Cayabyab, president of the local chapter of National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum.

What's that fishy smell? Sorry, couldn't help it.

1. Unless you WANT to

Unless you want to be treated like a plate. It's called FREE WILL.

Maybe the rent is due, and the Bush economy hasn't provided any other jobs?

Maybe the girls like being naked...it happens. I know.

Maybe all of the people involved are grown-ups and can think for themselves about how and where they want to eat their goddamn dinner.

DON'T WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT IN THIS COUNTRY?

Sheesh.

samething happened to side show freaks in the early 20 century. It took away the livelyhoods of lots of people. It was what they wanted to do, and other people took it away.

Cheers

3. Personally, I have no problem with "naked sushi"...
...I'd be more worried about sushi wearing clothing!

Oh...never mind...

8. Downtown
1st Ave., a couple blocks north of Pioneer Square.

How does this affect your opinion?

10. well, if it was say..... alki or phinney ridge
I'd say that it would probably be out of place, and may not be the best exemplification of women, but if it's someplace like pioneer square->belltown, or capitol-1st hill or whatnot, then I would have a better feeling that the women involved are mature adults that like to get naked.

6. I find it to be odd...
But that's free will for you. Not really any of my business how they choose to eat, etc.

7. she'll come to a sticky end!

Anyway, I hope the mayonnaise in the California rolls will cancel out the dehydrating effects of the vinegar on her skin.

9. I saw that in the Seattle Times yesterday
I think the models are covered in plastic...and I don't think they are fully nude either.
