Anyone ever reflect on the similarities between The Soprano's |

and the Bush Regime? I love the Soprano's (my guilty pleasure) and I think I have seen all of the episodes thus far. Here are some of the similarities I've seen:
Both groups aren't very smart just very ruthless. They both make stupid mistakes because of their overconfidence. (Tony leaving stolen tickets under the seat of the car and the Feds finding them)
They overestimate their importance in the world and when they come face to face with how looked down upon they are, they kill someone. (Tony trying to make friends and golf with neighbors and realizing they looked down on him)
They both have tacky taste (anything the family wears)
They both make a big deal about family values but are transparent when raising their kids that they take what they want and get out of any jam by force. (Tony yelling at the kids for their language and then using the same language against them)
Their friendship can never be trusted.....ever (The restaurant owner in the Sopranos, Tony helps him out with a loan and then burns down the business for taxes)
They both acquire things and then proceed to destroy them because their objective was never to own them in the long run. (Taking over the sporting goods business and letting all the mobsters clean it out and eventually close it)
Add ones you've noticed

1. Actually Tony didn't burn down Artie's restaurant for taxes |
|
Uncle Junior was going to off a rival there, and Tony pre-empted the offing to protect Artie. Twisted logic, I know, but he thought Artie's business would never get over a mob offing on the premises, whereas if it had burned down, no-one was any the wiser.
Actually, I think Tony and friends have ther own twisted version of honor, that even the Bushies can't equal.
Christopher would kill you in a heartbeat if ordered by Tony, but he'd also kill anyone else on your behalf if they were a threat to you.
