2. In the 80s, not just hair was big. Tongues were bigger then, too (and YES)
That's Pia Zadora.

I don't understand how Iraq will look like this in 20 years, though. Can you enlighten me?

5. Ooooh, the "I'm the Man" 12"! With, IIRC, a cover of Sabbath Bloody Sabb..
on the flipside!

I have that one... they were great, right up to "Persistence of Time".

And, hey, the "metal" Suicidal Tendencies album... I have that one, too... it's better with age.

6. Yeah, I used to have 'Attack of the Killer B's" with that on it
I do believe that ST was a metal band, but money quickly changed them. The difference between Controlled by shit/Deja Vu and Lights, Camera, Revolution was incredible. While both are good in their own ways, you'd be hard pressed to think it was the same band. Hell, I used to be able to make duplicates of the stone and brick ST logo with a pencil or pen on anything, now I'd be lucky if I even recognized their new music.

7. No, ST started out as a punk band...
I have their first LP from '83, and it's excellent ("Institutionalized" is on the Repo Man soundtrack, too).

I saw them touring to support their second album, "Join the Army". I already had done just that, so that must have been 1986 or '87. That was when they started getting "metal"... extended solos, etc.

10. OMG! All I wanted was a Pepsi!!
 Repo Man Soundtrack is one of my favorite albums EVER!

ST also kicked with
Subliminal
I Saw Your Mommy
Fascist Pig

Fuck it, that whole LP kicks ass!!

I am so jealous that you saw them back in the day... did they do all the good stuff from first album?

15. yeah... get this.
I was on leave when I saw that show, in Buffalo NY.

Within the same two-week period, Butthole Surfers and Black Flag played the same venue (Painters' Union hall), and I caught all three shows.

The year before, the show hilights were Beastie Boys (Licensed to Ill tour--sponsored by Jolt Cola!), and Bad Brains I Against I tour (best show I've ever seen, to this day).

That's right, I only go to concerts where the headliner act begins with "B". The Suicidal show was an anomaly.

16. Seething with jealously now.
Butthole Surfers, Black Flag AND Beastie Boys (ON LTI, tour, no less!?!? Which, I still contend is their best work, by far regardless of the dillusions of some :eyes:)

11. Butt... I got to see Antrax during the Euphoria tour.
That album was weak by comparision, but they were still way cool. And they opened for Ozzy. :headbang:

8. "Pre-Sold-Out"? Rocker, please! They're musicians chasing chix & money
Adjusting their market product to enhance their consumer base (and therefor their income & babeage quotient) is not "selling out." It's called being successful in business. Making loud music is not making a statement, fighting for freedom, or sticking it to the man. It's just a way of making money like any other enterprise.

"Pre-sold out". Sheesh.
