I Hate it When my Neighbor is BBQing when I come home
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 07:15 PM by WestHoustonDem
I just came home with my daughter from a candidate meet and greet. It was a great mother/daughter outing. She held her own with some pretty opinionated folks and actually admitted to enjoying herself.

<vent>So we pull into the townhomes and my rethug asshole neighbor is BBQ'ing in the drive. He says "It's always good to see a strong Bush supporter" and I replied that I do "pray for Bush every day". Then he said "I'm sure George directed that hurricane to hit New Orleans". I told him that George did stay on vacation while people were dying. And stormed into the house.</vent>

Thanks for listening. I'm calmer now.

3. You should have told him
That a "good bush supporter" is a dying breed. With a 38% approval, it won't be long until he sees none of them.

So he just yaps that shit out of nowhere?

12. his poll ratings are dropping like Dick Nixon's in 1973
things are bad for the WH and the GOP in general.

They have totally blown their 9-11-01 electoral power in just 4 years. How long did the Democrats hold congress even after LBJ got boondoggled in Vietnam? almost 30 years, showing even during the Reagan years, a lot of people still favored more sound social/economic policy

7. his loss
you are in houston, which i know to be openly republican for one cause; the spiral of silence, a social concept by E. Noelle-Neumann. basically a republican says someting, and all the democrats say nothing against it, making other democrats think everyone agrees with that one republican. there are democrats there, as i am sure youre aware of. the guy you talked to probablly a brainwash victim of the bush agenda. i hear texas used to be democratic. that would've been nice. (i live in houston too)

11. Punk has her reasons for reacting that way...
She's my daughter, and thought she was being funny. She just said, "I'll have to think about what I write next time"

I'm raising a good, Democrat with a very sick sense of humor. I'm so proud!
