Intheflow made it to Houston tonight...

she drove a 1983 Toyota Dolphin to Houston from Denver to give to a couple who were displaced from their home in NO. An Artist friend of ours donated the RV and intheflow got local businesses to donate time and parts to fix it up for free so se could take it to them in Houston. 3 days,several repair stops, much love and some help from a UU couple in Amarillo, plus a sore ass later she arrived tonight and gave the RV to a "Beautiful gay couple and their cute dogs." She will spend the next week or so volunteering her services as a councilor or wherever the Red Cross needs her there in Houston. I really just had to brag on her. She is my hero.

but I am biased. None the less, it was a lot of work and she's just one of many people doing what they can. But I know the face of this one so I had to share.

I wish I were in Austin, I'm sure it would be much cooler (in the hip sense) than Houston. I tell ya, this place is downright creepy with that Enron building towering over downtown. :scared:

On the other hand, I have met a lot of wonderful Houstonians, and you couldn't have convinced this Massachusetts native there was such a thing as a cool Houstonian just a few short weeks ago. So live and learn!
