8. I have limited access to the internet if I come to town, past the

check points and to the office. I borrow a car when I can (no word from ANY of my insurance companies yet :grr:) - we are not operating because there is no business - we come here to communicate on land lines and via internet. It is air conditioned, so it is refreshing.

My spirits are high - we might get power in the next couple of days (guys in bucket trucks all around my sister's house and down her street).

It would be wonderful to take a hot bath - maybe even sleep on a bed! ;-)

Still frustrated with FEMA - Red Cross and all the other agencies - but am alive and intent on making this work!

I keep holding out hope that your truck will suddely reappear - just so you can recover the stuff you had packed in it.

11. We did find my truck - it is stuck in the mud - was covered in water and

is full of mud - I was able to salvage my suitcase and save some of my clothes (that mud is nasty stuff - won't wash out of everything) - my hard drive might be recoverable (maybe - when time provides). It is just my insurance agent has yet to inspect it to total it.

Can't get a replacement until they pay me for that one :shrug: so, I am at their mercy. Adjusters must be so conflicted, overwhelmed, yet empowered.

I will pmail you an address - it is my sister's and they promise soon that the mail will be delivered - I am like a kid waiting for the mail these days - small pleasures.
