So a coworker brings in a box of chocolate - mixed variety stuff. I graciously accept a piece but this isn't like Whitmans where they have the map on the box so you can pick something you might want.

But as always - I end up with the fricking coconut. YUCKYUCKYUCK!!!

1. I love coconut.
I get stuck with those industrial strength caramels that dentists are starting to use to extract wisdom teeth.:sarcasm:

16. Dark chocolate and roasted coconut? Sure.
Dark "chocolatey coating" and coconut flakes, held together by what the label calls "nougat" but really defies identification? Ick.

4. God hates you
that is why she allowed you to rediscover Doc Martins in time for a California trip where everyone will point and laugh at you for wearing them.

Either that or pure chance.

22. when you were little
did your parents beat you with a bat that had Philadephia written on it? Do you have pretzel/hogie/cheese steak envy? Why can't we all just get along? We like you in spite of that silly accent you guys have up there. I don't even live in Philly anymore and feel the need to defend it's tarnished honor.

at major intersections have big soft pretzels for sale. It's a combination of the pretzel, the exhaust of the cars, sweat from the vender's, that makes them special. You really never ate a philly soft pretzel? Wow that's like living in Boston and not trying Union Oyster House and the Black Rose or not trying fried clam strips out on Cape Anne or clam chowder in Maine. Seriously I grew up eating those before I had hoagies or cheese steaks

I'll take a good Munich pretzel any day.

29. I'll give you the Munich Pretzel and any beer made in Germany
over any beer made in or near Philly. I think the evil is caused by being forced to live so close to Jersey... evil place with their own devil and all.

30. Oh, blame it on Jersey, nice.
Blame the victim. It isn't Jersey's fault that NYC uses Jersey as a puke bucket.

31. I love Jersey, spent my whole teen age years commuting with the rest
of PA to the Jersey shore every weekend during the summer. Since PA is short of ocean beaches of their own we invaded Jersey as does a lot of NYC. It's just easier to blame them then take responsibility for our own wicked ways. It's the American way. I was going to blame it on Saddam but that excuse is overused right now.

7. Life is like a box of chocolates.
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 10:47 AM by Commie Pinko Dirtbag
A cheap, thoughtless perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you ever get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or an English toffee but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. You end up with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is an empty box filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

I always seem to get the fruit creams or something like that. Now THAT is YUCKY.

Give me dark chocolate, nuts, caramel, coconut, or any combination thereof, or just forget it.
