When will they stop? Vh1 Reality shows...
While doing some research last night, I had the tv on as background noise. At one point, that show w/Chris Knight and that model girl was on. Oh. my. God. So. Stupid.

As if that wasn't the worse thing I've ever seen on television, it was followed by 'Being Bonaduce' with Danny Bonaduce (formerly Partridge Family)...Yes, I know I should have just turned the channel, or better, just turned the tv off. It's true, these shows are like horrible train wrecks, and you feel compelled to keep watching. By the end of this one, I decided no more Vh1 for me, ever. :grr:

I also decided that none of the people in these shows could possibly have any integrity left in them. I'm not at all sure what the one w/Chris Knight is SUPPOSED to be about. The Bonaduce one is apparently about his meltdown prior to going to rehab. But is that anything anyone really NEEDS to see? :wtf:

I found what I saw of it, rather gratuitous, and just out right disturbing. I didn't feel sorry for anyone, I just wondered why the hell were they torturing each other...

Why won't they just show the damned music videos anymore? When did they become the 'reality' network? Maybe it's for the best--I'm watching less and less television, because frankly everything on is utter crap...

1. The Chris Night/model one is slightly disturbing.
It's odd watching two people who have completely different priorities and intentions try to carry on a relationship. Especially when Florence Henderson comes over.

2. Yes, exactly--I just didn't get it.

I kept asking myself, why isn't she working as a model? Isn't that what she won that contest for? Shouldn't she be modeling somewhere?

Then Chris Knight going back and forth between 'I love you so much' to 'get out of my house.' :banghead: :wtf:

Both shows seem to be human cruelty experiments, in varying degrees.

5. They're both in need
of some serious mental help.

My personal favorite moment was when Mama Brady asked the model what her career aspirations were and she mumbled something about liking animals. :wtf:

7. Yeah--I found that odd, too...
I think I said to the television,"...aren't you a model? What happened with that?"

Does she think she has to be something 'more than that' to maintain her relationship or something?

Bizarre...

8. It'a a shame, an absolute shame...
I realize that not every network or show has an interest in being true to it's roots, but this is frankly ridiculous.

This is going to be a very sad statement, but it is the truth, at least for me. The last time I enjoyed MTV was four years ago, after 9/11--they suspended their normal programming and just played MUSIC videos for days!!!:bounce: I was in heaven!

Yes, it was a horrible time, and I was depressed beyond words, but MTV was finally something I ENJOYED watching! When I couldn't stand another minute of the 9/11 footage, I could turn to MTV and it was good again...!

They tried to repeat this a year later for the anniversary of 9/11, but it wasn't qutie the same. They obviously couldn't wait to start showing CRAP again, so it didn't last nearly as long. :eyes:

...AND they are absolutely obsessed with abandoning anything that it's older viewers (the generation that started with them) might like. Most of the adults I know, HATE the new programming, and just want to see some damned videos!

9. It's ironic that the one child star , Gary Coleman
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 05:34 PM by bliss_eternal
that was touted as growing up to become a failure of sorts, is the one to NOT do a reality show. He has said he doesn't like them, and though he is constantly offered them, he likes to think he has a smidgen of integrity left--and that is what makes him say no.

LOL!

Also ironic that Bonaduce is allowing his daughter to be a child actress. He said something very twisted in that he felt he 'owed it to the business' to have a child enter the industry, be successful and not be screwed up. :wtf:

Sounds like he wants to attempt to relive his child acting experiences through his child, in an effort to not have it NOT turn out screwed up this time around. A certain key to much frustration, angst and certain failure --for him. You can't redo stuff through others--DUH!

:dunce:
