Bloggers: what do you use?

I'm looking for a free blog that looks nice and has cool features and NO advertising or site banners. Toyed with livejournal (my tiny, new pathetic blog is here http://www.livejournal.com/users/cyberspacey/) but it's clunky and I'm not crazy about not having much control over its overall appearance, like no easy solution to having title graphics and no java scripts. Any recommendations???
