I have the Earworm from HELL |
|
I have a crappy Mary Poppins "Spoonful of Sugar" in my ear all from calling my co-worker the Mary Poppins of the group.
Damnit, I'm being punished now!!
<singing> Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down, the medicine go down-own</singing>

< Ebdim7 = ; Bbdim7 = >
In every job that must be done There is an element of fun You find the fun and - snap! - the job's a game And every task you undertake Becomes a piece of cake A lark, a spree, it's very clear to see that

A robin feathering his nest Has very little time to rest While gathering his bits of twine and twig Though quite intent in his pursuit He has a merry tune to toot He knows a song will move the job along, for

The honeybees that fetch the nectar From the flowers to the comb Never tire in ever buzzing to and fro Because they take a little nip From every flower that they sip And hence - and hence - they find - they find Their task is not a grind - ah, just

2. My latest earworm has been "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" by Genesis... |
|
not just the song- the whole album(s). For the last week or so various songs from the albums have been lilting around my knoggin... usually segwaying into the next song- one after the other.
To put a stop to this i purchased and listened to the whole thing and found it a joyous experience! Just like I remembered it as a teen...
Yet the earworm persists... but at least the little bugger has it down "note-for-note" now!
Here's a tip: to rid yourself of earworms- force yourself to hum THE MELODY of "Girl From Imponema" in your brain but NOT the lyrics. Including the lyrics will feed the worm and it will be stuck in your brain FOREVER! Hope this helps, Lynne, and good luck!
