Anything I can do for bacterial pink eye
Other than go to the doctor? I really don't feel like the hassle, but damn, my eye kinda hurts, is red on one side of the iris, and my son's daycare provider has pink eye, so that's what I'm guessing it is.

Maybe it's a result of the binge drinking, though.

It just showed up yesterday. Hurts when I blink - a little.

1. Not much you can do.
I am an RN at a Opthomology practice.

You need antibiotics, nothing else will make it go away, I am sorry to report.

You need to go to the doctor.

2. I was afraid of that
It makes sense, I suppose, if it is a bacterial infection.

How long should I wait before I go. I'm usually an utter hypocondriac and everything turns out to be nothing.

Thanks!

3. Are you having pain?
Redness? Mattering? Light sensitivity?

If you are having any 2 of those symptoms you need to go! :)

Just a quick word or advice, if you don't get it treated with some drugs pretty soon, you could really do damage to your cornea! Don't take your sight for granted, your eyes are the windows to your soul! Go get some drugs! SOON. :)

Good Luck!

4. I have redness and pain
so I guess that's two! The pain is when any pressure is applied.

Okay, okay, I guess I should call my doctor or go to urgent care.

Thanks again for the advice. I hate eye pain almost as much as tooth pain. :)

5. not to mention that if it is conjunctivitis
it is highly contagious, and you put other people at risk simply by living near them.

6. Give it up. Do you want to spread a bacterial infection
to helpless children, for the love of God! I didn't think so. :)
