We're Picking Up A New Kittie Today! |
|
Shelter in the large town north of us had a 10 week old gray tiger tabby, female. It was hit by a car when it was 5 weeks old, and the vets put it all back together. (So, we can't name it Humpty.)
My wife and i are going tonight at 6 to pick her up. Doggie and the other kitties will have a new little sister around 6:30 this evening.
This is gonna be fun! Boy, i love the little beasties. The Professor

Mokena would be east, too! Joliet has a big, no-kill shelter. All shots and everything are handled. What we pay is technically a donation! (Tax deductible and everything.) And, it's still pretty cheap! (Perfect for me, huh?)
She hasn't been spayed, though. We'll have to do that when she's about 16 weeks old. We've already made that appointment, though.
We had a gray tiger before. Smartest cat we ever had, and she was a rescued kittie, too! So, we're turning the wheel again. The Professor

5. Somebody should give you a medal. |
|
Any time anyone rescues anything from Joliet, they should be given a medal.
I was in Joliet on Sunday. Went to the race. It was a million degrees. We left early.

6. A Million Degrees?!?!? |

Wow, that's hot. Didn't seem quite that hot to me. You sure it wasn't just 950,000 degrees?
I left early too! In fact i left before i got there. Me and live racing are not two things we will see in the same place at the same time. Too hot. Too noisy. Too smelly. The Professor

Our latest kitty is a grey tiger shelter boy. He was pretty sick when we got him but now he's bursting with energy.
Enjoy your new daughter!

:hi:
have you seen my "Kitty integration" thread?
I'd love to know how you're going to integrate her into the household.

We have a few ideas. Truly, our experience has been that pets tend to rise to the expectations. If you expect them to be social with us and the other beasties, they end up being so. And, since we dote on the pets SO much, the newbie will get plenty of positive attention but without taking it away from the other oldsters. So, they'll be ok.
The big dog already loves hanging around with cats, and he's so gentle that he has stuffed animals in his basket that are 5 years old. So, he's very controlled about things he cares about.
We've never had an issue, so i'm not expecting one, but if we hit that barrier, we'll figure something out. Life is jazz, you know. Every note can't be, and shouldn't be, planned. The Professor
