Holy cow... I just joined an on-line dating service
Go figure.

I've been feeling pretty good about myself lately, and thought maybe it was time to get out and meet people.... well, meet some men.

I've been searching the singles that live near me, and I'm noticing that many of them don't bother answering questions about their political mind-set. This makes me a little nervous.

Oh well, I live in MA... there has to be a few liberal men around, right?

This is the photo I sent.

So... would YOU go out w/ me?

1. What did you say in the ad?
Sorry, I can't see the pic because my employer blocks photobucket.

What did the ad say? I'm curious.

Today I saw an ad by a woman who is 5'0". She's looking for a man who's 6'. Just how short does a woman have to be before she'll consider dating someone under 6'?

As a short man, I wonder why women are so paranoid about height.

6. Well, I said I'd date anyone 5'3" to 6:10"
I also said that I was looking for a long-term relationship.... let's see.....

Ok, I admit it, I'm going to sound picky, but I've been looking for a long time, and I guess that means I know what I want.

My perfect match is looking for the last love of his life. He's willing to start off slowly so that friendship and trust can be built first, but his ultimate goal is to find a spouse. He's considerate, friendly, fun, and compassionate. His ideal relationship is a two-way street.

He holds a steady job, but is not a work-a-holic. He likes to work out regularly, but he may not necessarily win any races or lift the most weight at the gym. He may even have love handles. He likes to eat, and even cook. His home is reasonably clean (house or apartment).

He likes to spend time w/ me, and even w/ my kids, but doesn't need to be with me all the time. He can accept that I'm an independent person w/ interests and friends and he'll fit in where he can but he'll have his own interests and friends and will continue to keep them in his life. He's got a good relationship w/ his own family, and doesn't mind spending time with mine.

He likes thought-provoking movies as well as funny ones. He enjoys the kind of music you can sing along to.

He didn't vote for GWB.

I'm pretty easy going. I work hard, and try to find time to have fun too. Sometimes I just like being home w/ my kids and my cats. I try very hard to treat people the way I want to be treated.

I'm a work in progress. There are still things I would like to learn and things that I've never done that I'd like to do. I don't ever want to say that I've done it all.... I mean, what would be the point of living if you've done it all, right? I'd like to find someone who feels the same about their life, and if I'm really lucky, we'll want to learn and try the same things.

I wonder what kind of response I'll get, if any.

11. Hard to relax in a messy house
If I spent any time there I'd be tempted to clean, and I don't think it's up to me to clean someone else's living space.

3. I'll pick you up around 7 ish Miss Millie!
I don't know why any eligible single man wouldn't be interested. You are an attractive lady, I bet you will have more interest than you can handle.
One word of advice, take some time to get to know them on line or the telephone before you agree to a date. Also, meet in a VERY public place and tell a loved one where you are going and with whom you will be meeting.

13. Yes indeed!
And here's what we'd look like if we were digitized and stood around in our underwear (but she's much cuter than I)

8. If I were a man, I'd date you!
I hope it works out for you. One of my best buds from law school met someone on match.com, and I think they're quite serious about each other, so I know these things can work.

I do echo the advice about meeting people in a public place and taking your time.

15. With a smile like that, you bet!
Of course, my wife might get a little upset with me. Go figure. Still, if I was on the prowl, you'd get a wink back from me for sure.
