2. Well, I was married at the age of 9
In my back yard by the neighbor, who was a minister's daughter. The first time I fell in LOVE was when I was 20. He was my "first time," and he broke my heart, but I stupidly allowed it to be broken.

8. First "real" girlfriend was at age 19
She was the first one of any real consequence. We dated for four years, off and on, through college and afterwards for a year or so until she dumped me for good.

I actually shed more tears over our breakup than I ever did over the breakup of my 9-year marriage, believe it or not. She broke my heart, and good.

26. Well, I'm 23 and I've never fallen
Still, the romantic in me finds something erotically poetic in saving myself for "the one."

Perhaps I read too many 19th century novels.

11. 19.
We were both art majors, and after a semester of being drawing class buds (with him dating someone else), I came back the next fall looking hot.

He dumped her and got with me. It only lasted a year, but I was totalled for a long time afterward. Didn't have a serious guy for 4 years after that.

Don't worry, I bet he ended up living in mom's basement, working at the comics store, and spendings his weekends at gaming cons.

I'm fussy--always have been.

I can be in "like" with all sorts, but for genuine love, I require someone who has a wide-ranging intellect and a dry sense of humor in addition to all the usual good qualities (kindness, honesty, liberality...).

I was 22 before I met someone who fit the profile. That was when I first really understood what all the love songs were about. :-)

Unfortunately, aside from being brilliant and funny, he was seriously messed up emotionally, and although I was only one of a crowd of young women who were after him, he didn't get together with any of us. :-(

However, I googled his name a while back and discovered that he is married, so he must have gotten over whatever it was that was keeping him from connecting with anyone.

28. Hmmm, good question
19, if you consider it was love because someone finally screwed me.

24, if you consider real love.

34, if you count true, everlasting, the real-thing, OMFG love. 10 years later and it's only gotten better!

We dated until I was 18 then drifted apart. Nothing dramatic just got older and moved on.

The next time was when I was 34.

Suzie White... where did you go? You were my across the street neighbor, but tragically, you moved away before I could declare my emotions.

I would not fall in love again until the age of 8 (the humiliating "Jennifer Dowd incident".)

I chased him around the playground & he fell against the monkey bars and chipped his tooth. For some reason, at that age, girls always chased the boys.

when I had my daughter. That was when I realised what real love felt like, and I didn't have that for her father. Thank goodness I was not married. Now, falling in true love with a partner, was when I was 27, when I met my husband. It was love at first e-mail/sight. Married at 28 and have been married for over a year. We have been together for 2 years just this month.
