OK, this just has to be said. Ted Nugent's a bit wacky.
I know next to nothing about his music. However, we subscribe to several bowhunting magazines at work and I get a glimpse into the head of Ted. He writes hundreds of articles and editorials about bowhunting, and he has a show about it too.

I can't put my finger on why he cracks me up, but I'll try to here. The guy is like 20 years older than me, but no way will I ever have his energy. He has this real childlike fascination with his own name. He calls himself "The Nuge". He calls his bits for magazines "Teditorials", and he's so completely earnest I don't think he'd recognize sarcasm if it bit him on the ass.

He started a bowhunting camp for kids, and I think it's pretty cool of him to want to instruct young people and interact with them the way he does. He sounds off on the "war cries" of his "brothers and sisters". He could be one of the kids.

Someone bottle this energy for me. I had a rough day at the office. :D

1. Do you know about his politics?
His proclivity for underage females?

I wonder if drugs are the reason for his energy...

2. I do know about his politics, and on the whole, I disapprove
vehemently with most of them. I do know (well, not for a fact) that he doesn't do drugs, because he has a couple of programs steering kids away from drugs and involving outdoor activities. He says he's never done them himself, or drank. He's just naturally wacky.

14. Not true about the drugs.
Well known for his drug intake in the Amboy Dukes in the '60s. Of course then he was a flower child complete with velvet suit and eye-liner but no doubt the RW gun nuts who idolise him won't remember that far back or were too busy avoiding Viet Nam to notice. As indeed, did old dick head Ted himself. A complete waste of DNA.

15. Really?!? I didn't know that.
I knew he wasn't the bastion of sanity, but I didn't know about the drugs. I got the impression that either he never did them, or he did them and regretted it, or something. I don't know much about him except for what I read in his articles.

17. A list of quotes from this moron:
including the one explaining how the great supporter of the troops managed to avoid actually going to Viet Nam himself.

7. You're probably right.
I think he has a very serious "bunker" mentality. I wonder what his parents are like.

11. I am too sometimes. I do appreciate certain facets
of a personality I'd rather not know in person, but appreciate them afar. On the other hand, I would probably never like him, but I could get into a conversation with him that I'd never forget. Does that make any sense?

12. Yes it makes sense
Since the man feels to me like a total control freak it would probably be a meeting that had some memories for both of you. I cannot imagine a liberal minded progressive ever being a**hole" enough to meet his standards. Then again I could be wrong. People that are as sure of their "rightness' as he seems to think he is make me walk in the other direction. I do however like the long version of Cat Scratch Fever.:bounce:

I could live with a *very quick dose* of Ted Nugent but no more. His talking in the third person would probably drive me up a wall all by itself. :)

16. Yes, a bit
I remember reading an account of how his stellar hit song "wang dang sweet poontang" came into being. It had to do with scaring the shit out of a attractive young female reporter who was trying to get an interview. Back in his "Cat Scratch Fever" days
Just think, if he would keep his mouth shut about politics, I would never have to hear about him. Or even have an opinion, but since he can't or won't, I think he's a wack job asshole.

18. A friend of mine partied with him once.
My friend was on the road with a band who he crewed for, and one night, wherever they were, they all ended up partying in a group of people including Nugent. He said that Nugent was the only one of the group not doing drugs/getting trashed, yet he was the craziest one of all.

21. I had a boyfriend like that for 10 years.
He was freaking insane, and he almost never touched alcohol. Yet every time he opened his mouth, it was like a gun going off!

Thanks for the story, too.

22. Ted Nugent is a complete and utter asshole
of the worst kind. It really has nothing to do with politics, it has everything to do with a psychopath who pretty much has a god complex. He should be locked up in a mental institution and left in a straight jacket until the day he dies. And that's from a female, animal rights activist.
