My friend is turning into a moran

my best friend since we were freshman in highschool. she's not political at all and for the past 2 years she's been dating and now living with what i can assume is a republican, i haven't met him yet and have no plans to when i go back to Boston for a visit. Anyway, over the past year she's been sending me emails, her bf sends her ones that i guess are supposed to be funny if you're a republican or an asshole and she hits forward so me and everyone on her addy list gets it. After a few Dean and Kerry bashing ones i started hitting bounce and then i finally emailed her back on one that really pissed me off and i asked her to please to stop sending these emails to me, she was fine with it. OK, so today i get one from her, it was a forward from her BF and they were what i guess were jokes about NO and i got pissed so i call her and tell i don't think it's funny and she tells me i've lost my sense of humor and i tell her lost her her ability to choose a bf and of course she gets pissed. So i tell her look, i don't know your BF but you do know me, i don't expect better from him but i do expect better from you so please stop ok, it's not funny, what happened there is a nationial disgrace and a terrible loss for the people of NO and the Gulf so leave it alone ok?

Anyway, it pretty much ended there but i'm so surprised by her, she was never like this before and i'm afraid that we won't be able to keep our friendship.

1. I lost a friend after the 2000 election...

we tried to keep it up afterwards, but after last year, it totally fizzled out. the death knell was when I called her (on election night 2000) at 1 am crying about how horribly everything was fucked up in FL, and she (who had been sleeping peacefully and didn't vote anyway) basically told me I was an idiot for giving a shit. Then, over the years, she became a bushbot.

my life is better without her negativity.

2. you know her theory on her having this boyfriend, how she justifies it?

i swear she said to me "Half a loaf is better then none" Now i didn't even ask her why she was with him, i figure thats her business but she just threw that comment out there.

If we are not there with them as they change the paths we take may diverge. We are new people every day. Sometimes we move along the same paths. Sometimes we don't.
