Most popular "dramatic montage" song ever: 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen.
Used in "The West Wing", "Scrubs", "Shrek", and more.

Tonight, it got a workout on "House".

The Jeff Buckley version, same as the "WW" 3rd season closer.

2. They also used it in "The O.C."
Or so I've read. Never seen the show.

Still, it's a great song. One of the best.

3. i cry like a little girl every time i hear that
i remember when they used it on the season finale of west wing...

i was staying in a dorm at nyu during a summer study class...my classmates couldn't understand why i wanted to ditch felicity in favor of west wing...

4. My crying moment came during the 2nd season closer
to the tune of "Brothers In Arms", but, yeah, the "Hallelujah" montage was very powerful.

6. John Cale's version is incredible
Best version, IMO. I read an interview w/ Cohen a few years ago where he says it's his favorite, too.

Best song he ever wrote..

10. I actually thought John Cale's version was a little dry.
Just MHO.

8. It really needs a rest at this point
It's so overdone...at this point using it is just letting your creative bankruptcy show.

I also propose a moratorium on the use of O Fortuna in trailers for shitty action movies.
