A dead man and his dog.......
There once was a man walking down a dirt road with his dog. After awhile, he realized that he had died. And his old dog walking beside him had died many years before.
They walked awhile, and up the road he saw a great golden arch, shining in the sunlight. When they got there, there was a golden gate with a man seated at a desk. "Where are we?" the traveler asked. "This is Heaven" the man at the desk answered. "We have walked a long ways" said the traveler. " We are very thirsty. Could we please have a drink of water?" "Of course. Please come in and I will have water brought here to you" The traveler started through the gate, but was stopped by the gatekeeper. "I'm sorry sir, but we don't allow dogs in Heaven"
The traveler stopped, looked at his old dog, and continued down the road.
Awhile later, they came to an old dirt farm road leading to a stock gate that looked like it had never been closed. Near the gate was an old man sitting underneath a tree. "Hello" said the traveler. "Howdy" said the man. "We are very thirsty, and would appreciate a drink of water?" "Of course" said the old man." The well is over yonder -help your self" "Can my dog come too" the traveler asked. "Absolutely" said the old man." There's a pan beside the Well" After drinking his fill, and refilling the pan so his dog could drink, he went back to thank the old man. "Where are we? asked the traveler. "Why, this is heaven!" the old man replied. "But the man at the golden gate back down the road said THAT was heaven" "No, that was Hell" said the old man. "Don't you mind that they use your name like that?" asked the traveler. "Not at all" said the old man." They just screen out the people who would leave their best friends behind."

3. I too love this story...it is so moving and so true.
My furbabies would never leave or abandon me, so I think it's only right I do the same for them.

Thanks for sharing this - I love this story :)
